Client Feature: Indiana Country Club

Marketing for a private country club has been a challenge and a joy. Over the past year, we have been on a mission to show the Indiana community and other communities all of the benefits of joining the Indiana Country Club (ICC). With so many amenities, special events, a family-friendly atmosphere, a highly rated golf course, and fine dining, our biggest struggle was deciding where to begin. Through all of the decisions and marketing ideas, we have worked with Sarah Rupert, the ICC Club Manager.
After moving back to the Indiana area from the south, where she opened up a few restaurants, Sarah applied for a server position at ICC. Because of her nature to perfect projects, she moved up quickly to her current role as club manager, which allows her to oversee and make decisions about everyday operations. Sarah works tirelessly to ensure that the members of ICC, as well as the Indiana community at large, enjoy all that the ICC has to offer.
When asked about her goals for the country club, Sarah said, “I want our employees to be satisfied and enjoy working here. I want our members to enjoy their time while they’re here as well. Also, when I started, we only had a dining room. Since 2014, we’ve built a pool and a kid’s room, so the club has been able to help increase membership through those additions…It’s a wonderful place for individuals and families. Whether your membership is for networking, social reasons, golfing, or any other reason, there’s something for everyone.”
To meet Sarah’s goals of keeping members and employees happy, along with increasing membership, Planful was hired to execute internal marketing, external marketing, brand development, and social media management. Specifically, Planful writes and creates newsletters each month and weekly emails to send out to staff and members to keep them updated on happenings around the club.
When asked about how Planful assisted the ICC, Sarah responded, “They have helped in a lot of ways! They’ve updated and maintained our website and Facebook and have kept us up on our social media presence. As far as aiding with membership material and branding, Planful has helped us with consistency across the board between our electronic and paper information. They have also helped with guidance and design tips across our marketing material.”
The updates and consistency executed across the brand have drawn a larger audience for the ICC. Because potential members know what they are looking at, in addition to liking what they see, this brand development has lead to increased membership, too.
